Jashari: "Milan is a dream come true. Pirlo is my idol, the pressure doesn't scare me."

AC Milan "is a dream come true" after a lengthy negotiation that the Rossoneri club managed to close with Club Brugge. Ardon Jashari is now happy, finally a Rossoneri player. "Everyone knows it was a long negotiation, but from the first contacts with AC Milan, it was clear that I wanted to come here," the 23-year-old Swiss midfielder said at a press conference. "I knew it wouldn't be easy because I was important to Club Brugge and they wouldn't let me go easily. Patience was needed. Tare always told me he would do everything to bring me here. Even though other clubs came, I only wanted AC Milan. Now we're all happy."

Pirlo a source of inspiration

His idol is Pirlo. "I have a similar story to him; he started out as a number 10, and so do I. Then he came here and played as a playmaker. I also started out as an attacking midfielder and now I play further back. He's been a huge source of inspiration for me." From one champion to another, Modric: "Playing and training alongside a Ballon d'Or winner like Modric will help me a lot: I'll try to enjoy it and grow with him."

The pressure is normal

The pressure and expectations are high, but he doesn't want to be compared to De Ketelaere: "The only thing we have in common is that we both come from Club Brugge. I feel a bit of pressure, but anyone who wears this shirt knows the pressure, so it's all normal. I'll work hard to make the fans proud and repay the club's faith."
